Your chats stay yours.

The short version: your chats are stored only on your iPhone. Before anything is analysed, names, phone numbers, emails and links are replaced with codes on your phone. Only that coded text is sent for analysis, and we don't store it. We don't sell data, show ads or track you across other apps.
Who we are
Receipts: Chat Analyzer ("Receipts") is made by Streamline Studios (Pty) Ltd, Cape Town, South Africa ("we", "us"). We are responsible for the personal information described in this policy. Contact us at support@pullreceipts.tech.
What stays on your iPhone
- The chat exports and screen recordings you import.
- The results Receipts produces for each chat.
- Your profile name and photo, if you add them.
These are stored in the app's private storage on your device, protected while your iPhone is locked, and excluded from iCloud and device backups. We never receive a copy. Deleting a result in the app, or deleting the app, removes them.
What is sent for analysis
To produce your results, Receipts first anonymises the chat on your phone: people's names become codes like P1 and P2, and phone numbers, email addresses and links are removed or replaced. The coded message text is then sent, in small batches, through our server to an AI language model that judges each message (for example, whether it's warm, a question or an apology). The model is accessed through our provider OpenRouter, Inc.
- Our server only adds our access key and passes each request on. It does not log or store message content.
- OpenRouter processes the coded text to return the analysis, under its own privacy terms.
- The results come back to your phone, where the codes are turned back into names. Names never leave your device.
Coded text can still contain other details someone typed in a message (a street name, for example). Only import chats you're comfortable having analysed this way.
Anonymous usage statistics
To understand how the app is used and improve it, Receipts sends simple events such as "a report was opened", "the upgrade screen was shown" or "a purchase was completed". Each event includes a random ID created when the app is installed, the app version, and short labels such as the chat type (for example "group") and a size range (for example "5k–20k messages"). Events never include message content, names, contact details or your Apple ID, and are not used for advertising or linked to your identity.
Purchases
Payments and subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple. We never see your payment details. Apple tells the app which purchases are active so it can unlock features. Manage or cancel your subscription in Settings › [your name] › Subscriptions.
Device checks
To stop our analysis service being misused, Receipts uses Apple's App Attest to confirm requests come from the genuine app on a real iPhone. This uses a key created on your device and doesn't identify you.
What we don't do
- We don't sell or rent personal information.
- We don't show ads or use advertising or tracking SDKs.
- We don't use your chats to train AI models.
- We don't contact anyone in your chats.
How long we keep things
Message content isn't kept on our servers at all. Anonymous usage events are kept for up to 24 months and then deleted. Our server's basic technical logs (such as error messages, without content) are kept for a short period by our hosting provider, Cloudflare.
Service providers
- Cloudflare, Inc.: hosts our server and stores anonymous usage events.
- OpenRouter, Inc.: runs the AI language model that analyses the coded text.
- Apple Inc.: App Store payments and App Attest.
These providers may process data outside South Africa, including in the United States, under their own safeguards.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under South Africa's POPIA and the EU/UK GDPR), you may have the right to access, correct or delete personal information, to object to processing, and to complain to a regulator. In South Africa that's the Information Regulator (inforegulator.org.za). Because your chats and results stay on your device, you control them directly in the app. For anything else, email support@pullreceipts.tech.
Children
Receipts isn't intended for children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top and, for significant changes, tell you in the app.
